MIX SCIENCE AND SPIRITUALITY ?? PART 6 WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE HIT ROCK BOTTOM ?
MIX SCIENCE AND SPIRITUALITY ?? PART 6 Look at the image above and decide whether the stairs spiral down or up? Of course your reply depends on whether you are always looking down from the top or looking up from the bottom. Personally having looked at the above staircase several times I can say I have seen both the top and the bottom. Life can send you bumping down the stairs with little dignity. More over once we are at the bottom you find out those that enjoy kicking you whilst there. This pandemic has the capability to send the country bouncing down the stairs in more ways than economically.
Every so often we need reminding of how grateful we should be. The pandemic is like the country entering a dark tunnel. Indeed the virus crept up on us and changed the way we all live over night. More over the changes were global. Not only on an economic level but on a social level. In the first place many of us have never had our freedom restricted in such a way. Security and relative comfort enjoyed by most of us was replaced by uncertainty about the future. From my personal point of view, people and places in my life that stood for longevity and security were very suddenly under threat. Life would not be the same for some time and possibly never again. We all found ourselves waiting on the Prime Minister’s addresses to the nation with anxiety.
MIX SCIENCE AND SPIRITUALITY ?? PART 6
The significance of the above image is when we are surrounded with darkness it is very difficult to continue to look for light but we have to keep our eyes on it. Additionally during the summer we all saw a glimmer of light again. The majority of people were grateful of it and thought about the liberties they had missed. The business’s and jobs that were still there for them to work in and enjoy. More over we had a lovely summer where we could all enjoy those pleasures we had missed again. By the same token we could once again enjoy the company of those we missed.
Unfortunately there were a tireless minority that felt they were and are entitled to anything they take a fancy to. Over the summer months I witnessed myself and my friends being disrespected because of the shock waves caused by the first lockdown and the fear of illness. People I had known for years acting like you were nothing to them. Suddenly their attitudes toward people were extremely negative. Many of these people were well educated, prosperous people who should know better.
Can we not look down the road a little and stop thinking about what inconveniences this year has brought many of us. Think about those whose lives will never be the same again. More over the thousands who lost and are still to lose their lives. Our younger generation will pay for this economically for a very long time in income tax. The government have had to make decisions between lives and the future of the country. Should the global economy take a sharp down turn then civil unrest in this and many other countries could lead to a full blown world war.
RECENT LIGHTS OF HOPE
Ideally now the American election has had a positive outcome, the violence and racism sadly on the rise will retreat. A new administration in the most powerful country on the planet may have bought us some time in order to change course.
There are many theories, some of them conspiracies as to how the virus started and spread. However does that now matter? These disasters are necessary to breakdown a way of life that isn’t working. One that cannot be sustained. Medical advances are fantastic and people live longer lives, however the result is another virus taking it’s place. We just put fires out all the time. These contagions do all seem to originate from the same place and it just happens to have the largest population in the world. There are other countries that have population issues however. Third world countries should not exist in this day and age. Educating the younger generation on birth control in third world countries would help the suffering of babies and children brought into wretched conditions. Should there not be more attention paid to clearing up the bigger issues. Basic living conditions that should be a fore gone conclusion in 2020.
IT TAKES ADAPTABILITY TO SURVIVE
Surely as an evolved race we should be passed all this. My own faith in human nature has been broken and regained so many times I sometimes don’t know if I’m on foot or horseback. Problem being that every child on the planet has a right to a basic education and that simply does not happen in the very places it is needed most. You don’t have to give up your religious or spiritual beliefs to use education and science to evolve. We are all entitled to our beliefs and can still work together for a better future.
Never think that as one person you can’t change anything. If the last year has proved anything it’s collective belief in ourselves and collective energy that will survive. In times like this we are all the same. It’s the resourceful and adaptive that will take the country and the rest of the world forward. Stop moaning about what we can’t do and have in the current situation ( I include myself in that ) and look after each other. look at ways in which we can adapt our lives, business’s and attitudes to avoid a virus taking the world down. When you look at it like that, it’s pretty pathetic that a minority are happy to let it do just that. The recipe for the future has to have education, scientific/medical advances, self awareness and spirituality/humanity. If we can adapt and be resourceful in every way then this will pass sooner and with less damage. The biggest fear is that we lose our minds. If the mental effects take too much of a hold, we are screwed !!!
Look after your own mind because it’s your greatest asset and weapon for survival………..
